One of the major current challenges in the housing market: adjusting housing costs to family incomes
The issue of housing, the functioning of its market and its imperfections, the right to housing, the participation of foreign investors in the residential market, prices and rents that are beyond the reach of young people and the vast majority of the middle and lower classes, and the exponential growth of construction costs in recent years are some of the factors that alone justify a serious debate on the topic.
Regardless of political discussion and measures, it is important to understand the causes that have led to the production costs of housing or building rehabilitation reaching very high values compared to the income of most families. Without reducing costs, the adjustment between supply and demand is at stake.
In this context, and within the scope of the Post-Graduation in Real Estate Management and Valuation, a seminar with a debate on this current topic in Portugal will be held on May 11th at 4pm on the ISEG campus.
