Until 2019 he held various international executive VP positions at Nokia, with P&L responsibility in Europe, Latin America and Asia. During this period, he led teams of thousands of Telecommunications engineers in over forty countries. He was for more than a decade an administrator at Siemens Portuguesa and responsible for the creation of several R&D centers in Portugal. Early in his career, at Siemens AG in Munich, he had the opportunity to contribute to the first European digital standards of ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute). He coordinated, at COTEC Portugal, the team that defined the Portuguese innovation standards NP4457 and NP4458. Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and Executive Training from ESMT in Berlin and Siemens Feldafing in Munich.
