João Galego took an Integrated Master's Degree in Engineering Technology Physics (MEFT) at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and a postgraduate course in Forensic Studies at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP). During his master's degree, he specialised in High Energy Physics and was a research fellow at the Centre for Theoretical Particle Physics (CFTP).
He worked for several years as a consultant in the areas of software testing and DevOps for multiple companies, was chief engineer for Machine Learning (ML) in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation team of Siemens' financial services division and, finally, solutions architect, ML specialist and ambassador for Generative AI and Quantum Computing in the Startups team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), a leading company in cloud infrastructure and platform services.
He is currently Principal AI Engineer at Critical Software, where he helps develop reliable technological solutions for demanding industries such as Space, Defence & Security and Medical Devices.
