José Rui Meneses e Castro, Co-CEO and founder of MAP Group, was the latest guest on ECO's podcast E Se Corre Bem?, where he looked back on his academic and professional career and the moments that led to the creation of one of the leading companies in Portugal’s property and construction sector.
During the interview, the entrepreneur highlighted the importance of education in his career, revealing that it was whilst studying for his Master’s in Real Estate Management at ISEG that the idea which would eventually give rise to MAP Group first emerged. It was also during this period that he deepened his understanding of the property investment cycle and identified opportunities which he later sought to realise through his own business venture.
The Master’s programme mentioned by José Rui Meneses e Castro, coordinated by Amaro Laia, Joaquim Montezuma and João Carvalho das Neves, subsequently gave rise to the current Postgraduation in Real Estate Management and Valuation, which maintains the same academic focus and strong link to professional practice in the sector.
In the interview, the founder of MAP Group also shares the challenges of the company’s early years, the group’s evolution and the vision that continues to guide its growth.
