New leadership strengthens ISEG’s links with businesses and focuses on executive training geared towards skills, transformation and impact
Lisbon, 7 September 2026 — ISEG Executive Education announces that its new Board of Directors, chaired by Luís Vaz Henriques, has taken office, marking the start of a new chapter in executive education at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management.
The new Board of Directors also includes Ana Isabel Morais, José Veríssimo, Mário Caldeira and Sandra Alvarez, bringing together academic, executive and business experience. Mário Caldeira is President of ISEG and Sandra Alvarez is Chair of the ISEG Alumni Económicas Board, strengthening the links between the School, executive education and the alumni community.
The new board has made it a priority to consolidate ISEG Executive Education as a partner in the development of people and organisations. The aim is to preserve and strengthen the core of the current offering — the ISEG MBA, postgraduate courses, executive programmes and bespoke solutions — whilst deepening relationships with companies and institutions through more sustained collaboration models, tailored to the specific challenges of each organisation.

In this new phase, executive education is understood in a broader sense: not merely as the transfer of knowledge, but as a tool for developing new skills, aligning people with strategy, tackling real business challenges and supporting transformation processes. The ambition is to mobilise ISEG’s teaching staff and research, its alumni network, students and partners within the ecosystem in an increasingly integrated manner, combining learning, applied knowledge, innovation and executive development experiences.

Among the priorities will also be strengthening relationships with companies and institutions through bespoke programmes, Corporate Academies, applied knowledge and new models of business collaboration, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, leadership and innovation. Economic sustainability, internationalisation, the quality of the participants’ experience and contributions to international rankings and accreditations will also remain at the heart of ISEG Executive Education’s agenda.
Luís Vaz Henriques takes up the presidency after more than three decades of professional experience in technology, digital transformation, healthcare, telecommunications, consultancy and banking, combining an executive career with academic work at ISEG. He holds a PhD in Management from ISEG and has carried out work in the areas of strategy, information systems, organisational transformation and value creation through technology.
The new leadership aims to build on ISEG’s long-standing ambition to be a key partner in the development and competitiveness of Portuguese organisations, whilst strengthening the alignment between ISEG and ISEG Executive Education and enhancing the School’s knowledge and human capital.
