He is currently the Director-General of COTEC Portugal. Previously, he was the Advisor of the President of the Republic for the areas of knowledge society and innovation. Until 2007 he worked in the SONAE Group and Banco Espirito Santo, in the areas of business development, market intelligence, service quality and strategic marketing. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and an MBA from NOVA School of Business and Economics.
